The Laboratory of Hormonal, Metabolic and Immunological Research conducts fundamental and translational studies focused on the mechanisms regulating neuroendocrine, metabolic, and immune functions in children and adolescents.

A longstanding area of expertise is the investigation of neuroendocrine mechanisms underlying physiological and pathological pubertal development, regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, and the impact of endogenous and environmental factors on growth, development, and reproductive health. Particular attention is given to the role of biogenic amines and hormonal regulatory systems in the pathogenesis of endocrine disorders.

Another major research focus is the study of metabolic adaptation and oxidative stress across different stages of development. The Laboratory investigates biochemical and molecular mechanisms of cellular injury, detoxification pathways, and factors determining tissue resistance to environmental stressors and free-radical damage.

The Laboratory provides analytical support for clinical research programs and employs a broad range of modern biochemical, hormonal, and immunological methods, including spectrophotometry, fluorometry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), electrophoretic techniques, and other advanced laboratory technologies. Research findings contribute to the development of innovative diagnostic approaches and personalized strategies for disease prevention and management in pediatric populations.
