“To work out individual treatment and rehabilitation complexes for adolescents with neurotic disorders”
(research supervisor – Doctor of Medical Sciences T.Yu. Proskurina, 2007−2009 yrs)
Some variants of unfavourable course of the neurotic disease in present teen-agers have been defined out the basis of examinations, carried out in 197 adolescents of both sexes.
Object of study: neurotic disorders in adolescents.
Objective: improvement of methods for preventing the progress of neurotic disorders in puberty taking into consideration the pathogenetic mechanisms of their formation.
Methods: clinical, psychopathological, pathodiagnostic (the Luscher and Boyko tests, the method for estimating the quality of life), laboratory research (the fluorimetric methods by Matlina, Kulinsky, Kostiukovskaya; the Druex method), and computerized EEG.
Theoretical and practical results: there have been worked out methods for medico-psychological support and monitoring, as well as criteria for estimating the effectiveness of treatment for adolescents with different forms of depressive neurotic disorders and neurasthenia. The informational value of the indices most significant in prognosticating the therapeutic efficiency of treating neurotic disorders in adolescents was determined. The reworked algorithm for providing medical assistance to adolescents with neurotic disorders took into the consideration the outlined principles of treating different nosologic forms in the course of treatment.
Novelty: the paper proposes attested, from the point of view of high-proof medicine, novel schemes of therapeutic intervention when treating neurotic disorders with psychotropic means such as small doses of Eglonil (Sulpiride) and artherapy, when treating depressive neurotic disorder (DND) comorbid with a deviant behaviour; use of Stimulotone (Sertraline) in combination with aeroionotherapy when treating DND comorbid with anxiety; on-surface multi-needle reflexotherapy, psychotherapy and medications of herbal origin (Notta) with sedative effect in complex treatment of neurasthenia comorbid with strain headache; monotherapy with Picamilon (transorbital and peroral application), providing for tranquilizing, thymoleptic, and antiasthenic effect in treating neurasthenia comorbid with depression.
Effectiveness: the derived algorithms of therapeutic interference make it possible to use up-to-date technologies, provide for lower medicamentous load on a child’s organism, reduce the cost of treatment and the terms of the patients’ stay in specialized in-patient institutions, and improve the quality of life of adolescents.
Fields of application: practical work of psychiatrists, psychotherapeutists, neurologists, psychologists, and specialized psychoneurologic institutions.
